News & Updates
Catch up on the latest news here. Our extensive treatment menu has something to suit everybody, making Just Pampered the perfect place for a massage in Rayleigh.
Area of Operations: Rayleigh, Essex. Did you know we also have a salon in Great Baddow, Chelmsford? Between the two salons, we serve customers from all over Essex.
12 September 2021
Please see google for any temporary changes to opening times. We continue to operate on an appointment only basis.
We have temporarily paused the sale of gift vouchers, as we have many outstanding from pre-covid, that have been extended multiple times. We do not want to be in a position where we have over-sold and unable to accommodate treatments to suit the recipients demand.
15th July 2021
We have received guidelines about the lifting of restrictions and in particular the rules around wearing masks.
After careful consideration of the safety of both our guests and our team members, Just Pampered has decided to continue with our mask policy within the treatment rooms.
From Monday 19th July our revised policy is as follows:
All therapists will continue to wear PPE within the treatment rooms, in the form of a mask for all facial work and either a mask or shield for foot and body work
Clients will be encouraged to continue as they have been whilst visiting our premises, ie wearing mask to enter and exit the premises and removing only for treatment affecting the facial area (face, ears etc)
Our additional cleaning and hygiene procedures will continue exactly the same
Therapists will not be expected to wear masks/shields during planned breaks, taking phone calls and setting up empty treatment rooms, so please be understanding if you see a therapist in the building without their mask
Windows will remain open for ventilation
We will assess this again when cases begin to fall
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to get in touch
6th June 2021
Thank you for visiting our page. Please note we are operating on restricted hours for the next few days while head therapist Lisa takes some well deserved annual leave.
Normal hours resume Saturday 19th June. We do have some availability between now and then, plus our sister salon in Great Baddow would be more than happy to fulfil your appointment in the meantime.
22nd May 2021
13th April 2021
We are so pleased to be back open following Lockdown 3.0. Please note all gift voucher expiry dates have been extended. If you have an expired voucher please get in touch to discuss your appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon.
24th February 2021
We are hoping to open on Monday 12th April, in line with the Government Step programme out of lockdown. We feature in Step Two as a Personal Care Service and are aware this date is subject to change nearer the time.
We have a priority list of all those who were cancelled for this lockdown, during December or January. We have taken this time since the announcement to decide on the best course of action. We have decided to open the diary, filling first the priority bookings and then open to all, but only open the diary for the first two weeks following Monday 12th April.
We thought about not taking any bookings until nearer the time but are very aware nobody has been able to plan anything in their diaries so far this year and our emails and texts suggest you are keen to get booked in for something to look forward to. We have to admit, booking last minute with a days notice is all a bit of a rush and we, too, would prefer to be organised. However, we are also aware that the date could be pushed back and we would hate to have to cancel clients week commencing 12th and then not be able to get them in for a few weeks because our diary has been fully open and booked up.
Hence, the solution for the two week diary. If the dates are pushed back, your appointments can be pushed back with a guarantee there is space. If you do not wish to book straight away, we will still keep a priority call list for 26th April and beyond and will open this as soon as we have the definite go ahead for the 12th. We hope you can understand our logic, we just want to make it fair for everyone.
We will contact you over the next few days,
2nd February 2021
We’ve received a lot of enquiries about how you can maintain your skin at home, or how you can create your own treatment at home, as a bit of a self care ritual and pick-me-up for yourself or a loved one. With this in mind we have tried, tested and created our packages, with everything you need to create something as close as possible to the salon treatments at home.
The kits are based around single use treatments, with each product hygienically and securely packaged in a sterile environment. The foot file, nail file and buffer, toning spray, solar oil, lip balm and pulse point roller can be used again and again for maintenance and as a reminder of your relaxing spa day.
If you click the link for lockdown packages, you will see images, descriptions and video links to demonstrate the kits. Link HERE
Free collection and local delivery available on a Friday and Saturday.
3rd January 21
Hello and Happy New Year to all of our lovely clients.
As you are likely aware, we will not be returning this week. We remain closed under Tier 4 restrictions and currently do not have a review date. We know that the next review date for schools is currently 18th January. We are under no illusion that we will be reviewed or allowed to return ahead of the schools, obviously education takes a priority. Therefore, we have decided to take out all bookings for the whole of January and understand it could reach beyond this.
If you have a January appointment we will be in touch to postpone your appointment.
We are available for phone and video consultations. If you have any skin or beauty concerns, we’d be happy to help by prior appointment.
We are available to arrange click and collect or local delivery for any products
We are able to offer gift vouchers via post and email
If you have purchased a gift voucher for a loved one or are the lucky recipient of a gift voucher, please be assured all expiry dates will be extended to reflect our closure.
We will be in touch as soon as we know more.
In the meantime, may your nails grow and your skin glow!
20 December 2020
Following the announcement last night, we have entered Tier 4 with immediate effect and are therefore closed until further notice.
We have contacted everybody who had an upcoming appointment to let them know. As soon as we have more information about re-opening we will be in touch.
In the meantime, the Just Pampered Rayleigh Team would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you are able to celebrate, albeit differently to how you were expecting.
We hope to be back with a positive announcement soon.
16 December 2020
While we are sad to be entering Tier Three, we are relieved to still be open. This time around, all salons and personal care services are permitted to continue as normal.
For appointments, in store shopping and voucher collections, please contact us to reserve your slot.
Our heart goes out to the Hospitality trade, who have also put so many measures in place in order to continue but now face closure again. We hope you guys will be open again soon.
11 December 2020
With isolation and changes in personal circumstances, we are receiving cancellations every day. We are by no means saying this to moan, because we know it cannot be helped and knew when we re-opened this would likely be the case for the foreseeable future.
We are mentioning it because it is always, always worth calling on the day if you would like a last minute appointment. Our diary is changing regularly, so if you would like to book in, this Saturday and next week is like no Christmas week we have ever experienced before and we are likely to be able to accommodate.
Due to the ever changing situation and the limitation of social events, we have made the decision to close on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve this year. We will cover extra hours leading up to this. Our Festive Opening Times are as follows:
Regular hours, then:
Wednesday 23rd December 9am to 1.30pm
Christmas Eve CLOSED
Christmas Day Boxing Day, Sunday 27th CLOSED
Bank Holiday Monday 28th CLOSED
Tuesday 29th December CLOSED
Wednesday 30th December 9am onwards by appointment to suit
New Years Eve New Years Day CLOSED
Saturday 2nd, Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th January CLOSED
Returning Wednesday 6th January when normal hours resume.
Thank you for your support, it means everything to us

31 October 2020
As a result of tonight’s announcement, the salon will be closed for a minimum of four weeks from Wednesday night.
We know there will be a divide in that some of you will want to cancel your appointment and we completely understand. Others may wish to bring their appointment forward to this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and for this reason we are arranging additional staff hours.
We will be making our way through current bookings to reschedule or cancel but please feel free to contact us sooner should you wish to come in early this week.
Thank you for your continued support and we wish you all a safe and healthy November.
It’s not goodbye… We’ll see you soon
1 October 2020
We don’t know about you, but despite all that has happened so far this year we can’t quite believe we are now in October! Autumn days out in the fresh air and cosy nights indoors are exactly what we need right now. What’s your favourite part of Autumn?
We’re still working harder than ever to keep you all safe with a clean but inviting environment. We’ve kept the new protocols as close to the original services as possible and the feedback we’ve had so far has generally been that it feels no different. This is so great to hear!
As the Autumn draws in we have made a few more tweaks to keep you warm and added our heated bed warmers, which are completely washable and also completely covered with multiple layers, not coming into contact with any client or the bed linens.
Our QR code for the Track and Trace is situated on the landing in the centre of the salon.
At the moment we are generally not fully booked, so it is always worth calling on the day if you’re not in a position to plan ahead.
As at Thursday 1st October:
(subject to change as we are asking all clients who are unwell not to attend their appointments)
Do you have a favourite therapist? These are their upcoming availability for the next ten days:
–♀️ Lisa – 5pm this evening, Friday 2nd 10.45am, 4pm. Saturday 3rd 10am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, then the next availability is Thursday 8th 10am, 11.45, 3pm and evening, Friday 9th 2.50pm, Saturday 10th 9am, 11.30am, 3pm.
–♀️ Asha – Friday 2nd 11.30am, 1.45pm, 3pm. Saturday 3rd 3.30pm, Friday 9th 11.15am, 12.30, 1.30pm, Saturday 10th 9am, 2.30pm onwards
The combination of the change in weather and wearing face coverings means many are experiencing breakouts on the lower face, known as Maskne, or mask acne. Is your skin suffering? Our extraction facial could be the answer for your skin. The thirty minute detoxifying treatment includes a deep cleanse routine, a steam treatment to open pores, exfoliation, gentle extraction of blocked pores and specialist products to instantly calm redness and breakouts. The treatment includes the face, neck, decollete and shoulder areas to ensure it both targets the skin issue and is relaxing too.
To book yours, please ask your therapist for an Extraction Facial, 30 minutes, £26.
You’ve all been amazing and you’re the reason we’re still here.

🤍Anyone who takes the time to be kind is beautiful
We all have so much going in the world and in our own lives at the moment, it is sometimes difficult to slow down. So many are suffering with their mental health at the moment, so we just wanted to say:
” If you are taking time out of your day to be kind to others, you are likely changing that persons outlook on the whole day. You could turn a bad day into a good day, with just a smile or small act of kindness. Anyone who takes the time to be kind is beautiful”
The last month has been an absolute whirlwind for us here at JP. We received news from the Government that we could resume all treatments at 11.30pm on the Thursday, with permission to work from the Saturday. We did contact everybody who asked to be on the priority list on that Friday. We’ve spoken to lots of you since who were unable to take our calls that day, but we are also available by email or phone any time if you’d like to speak to one of us.
We’ve had some lovely chats with those of you who are not ready to return yet and it was really good to hear from you and know you are safe. It’s a worrying time for all and we’re just super glad to hear from you.
If anyone has any questions about our current procedures or our safety, hygiene or staff protocols, please do not hesitate to contact us. We’ve had the month to tweak our procedures and perfect what we are doing and are ready for any further changes the Government announces for us.
At the moment we are not generally fully booked and we are seeing a shift in our previous patterns of peak times. Those who previously needed a Saturday appointment can now sometimes visit in the week. Maybe this is due to working from home, flexible working or the children being back at school. This does now mean we have more availability than usual on a Saturday. It’s always worth calling last minute to check what’s available on any given day and we will always do our best to accommodate you. We’re just letting you know because pre-covid we asked that you booked ahead for evenings and weekends, but this isn’t necessarily the case any more.
What’s Been Popular?
Our top five treatments in August (since all of our menu has been allowed) have been:
- Shellac Pedicure
- Swedish Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage
- Lash Lift and Tint
- Eyebrow Tint and Wax
- Hollywood Wax
🥇What’s Our Favourite?
We are loving our back facial, which we relaunched back in August. It includes a deep cleanse and exfoliation, detox mask and back, neck and shoulder massage ( see image below). We’re also so happy to be doing brows and lash lifts again. We love a variety in our day and a bit of everything but these are our long standing favourites.
Thank you, Thank you
We’ve really appreciated every single enquiry, every message of encouragement, every text, email, call, social media reaction. We knew this situation was never going to be easy and we know we have a lot of hard work up ahead. We know we are still a long way off from finding normality but have created a safe, hygienic, friendly environment for visitors and future visitors to escape for a while. Somewhere to relax, let go of tension and stress, in confidence that we are doing everything to protect you all. With your encouragement we have the positivity to keep going and look forward to seeing you when you are ready.
The JP Team
20th August 2020
We are so happy to be back doing what we love. We are adjusting to the new ways of working and keeping hygiene and safety a top priority for all. We are varying our opening hours slightly to ensure we can accommodate as many people as possible and taking hours back when demand is lower. Please check Google for any temporary adjustments to our regular opening times or call to check availability.
We are currently still operating on an appointment only basis but welcome any last minute phone calls, especially if you are in the High Street or passing by. Please call 01268 916713. Thank you
14th August 2020
Late last night the announcement was made that services can resume from 15th August, this Saturday
Have you tried our Back Facial?
July Update 17th July 2020
Today’s announcement – good news
Today it was announced all other Beauty services can resume from 1st August 🥳
They have also said guidelines will not be released until next week, so we’re not sure what conditions apply and will hold back from taking bookings until we have seen them.
We can, however, get you patch tested in preparation for your tinting or lash lift service as soon as possible now that we expect it to be within the next few weeks.
Due to the length of time we were closed for lockdown and the side effects covid-19 can cause, we will need to re-test everybody before tinting and lash lifting services. Please call or message to book your patch test. This can be fairly last minute and on-the-day but we cannot currently accept walk ins because we want to ensure social distancing in the corridor and stairway.
If you have not registered interest for a face/eye treatment and would like to, please let us know so we can add you to the appointment list. We will work our way through the list as soon as we have the guidelines.
We will be in touch as soon as we know more
We Can Open!
It was announced yesterday 9th July that we are allowed to reopen from Monday 13th July!
This is great news, however, it does come with some restrictions. We are not currently allowed to offer any treatments involving the face or head (which includes but is not limited to eyebrow shaping, facial waxing/threading, lash tinting, lash lift, facials, microdermabrasion, skin peels, microneedling, Indian head massage and ear candles).
As a result of this we will start by working restricted hours, because pre-lockdown these treatments made up 65% of all bookings. We are feeling optimistic that the restrictions, particularly for eyebrows, may not be in place for too long. When barbers and hairdressers opened on Saturday 4th July they were not allowed to carry out beard trims, but new guidelines state they will be allowed to do this from Monday 13th. We hope that some of these treatments will follow suit just as quickly. We can only hope.
We are ready, we are covid-secure, clean and good to go. I have listed some new guidelines below. If anybody has any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
To book your appointment please email or call 01268 916713 (the phone is diverted) and we hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support

Hello to all of our wonderful clients
It’s been over 100 days since we closed our doors in preparation for lockdown and I don’t think any of us thought it would be for quite this long when we all said goodbye. I think we expected that by the 100 day mark we would either be open or at least have a date to re-open.
Last week it was announced that hairdressers can return on 4th July but unfortunately not beauty salons, nail bars, massage, holistic therapy or spas. We know this created some confusion. We believe this is due to us being in close proximity and also being face to face for the majority of the time (while hairdressers are mostly facing the back of the client). We respect the decision of the government but are frustrated that we have no target date or anything to be aiming for at the moment.
We wish we could tell you more but we truly just do not know any more than you. Our Beauty Councils and professional bodies are currently seeking clarification and a road map for planned opening. Please be assured that as soon as we hear anything we will be in touch.
Behind the scenes we have assessed the risks and made appropriate changes to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff. We will release our new guidelines for visitors once the government have concluded what we need to do, but at this stage I am confident we have gone over and above what is currently required of us.
We don’t just ‘do’ beauty
We have built such a relationship with you over the years and it feels so much more than just ‘doing’ beauty. We’ve shared many moments with you, celebrated through engagements and weddings, comforted you through grief and heartache and been there to help you switch off from it all when life becomes too much. We’ve received such lovely comments and are grateful to you all.
Thank you to everybody who took part in our survey last month. We have taken on board all of your comments and will address each of them before re-opening.
We have noted the names of everybody who requested to be added to our booking list on the survey. If you didn’t get a chance to complete the survey but would like to be added to the priority contact list please let us know.
Gift vouchers are currently open ended and would not have expired while we are closed. Once we have an official date, we will reset all vouchers for a further six months from this point, so you all have plenty of time to use them when you feel ready.
We thank you all for your continued support.
We will be in touch soon
The Just Pampered Team
It’s hard to believe we’re into June already and heading towards our review date for re-opening.
Some of you may have seen some businesses are advertising that they are taking bookings from 4th July – we have decided for the moment we will not take any bookings until 4th July is a confirmed date. The government have already pushed the review date back from 21 days to 28 days, taking us potentially to 25th June before a decision is made, so while we are hoping for 4th July this is currently not guaranteed. We will keep checking for government updates and open our diary as soon as we know we have a definite opening date.
Behind the scenes we are doing everything we can to ensure the salon is safe for both staff and visitors but we are yet to receive official guidelines. At this point we do not know if there are certain treatment restrictions or what the new conditions will involve, so we want to avoid booking appointments to then potentially have to reschedule again.
We know some of you will want to come and see us straight away and others would rather wait. We completely understand. To help us gain an idea of your requests and concerns, we’d be really grateful if you have the time to complete a short survey. The link to the survey is HERE.
In the meantime we wish you all well and want to assure you all staff are safe and well too. We take hygiene and safety very seriously and will ensure measures are in place to protect us all.
You will see on the survey, we have stated we will be giving priority bookings to all clients who have had their appointments cancelled over the past few months. We understand some of these appointments were booked for a special occasion and may no longer be necessary. If you would like to be added to our priority contact list, please leave your name on the survey (last question) so we can offer a booking to you as soon as we know more.
Thank you to everyone who has sent us messages over the last few months. It has truly been a strange time for us all and your words of encouragement have kept us going. Our inbox is always open for anyone who has any questions or concerned.
Gift vouchers are currently open ended and would not have expired while we are closed. Once we have an official date, we will reset all vouchers for a further six months from this point, so you all have plenty of time to use them when you feel ready.
We have a link here to some of our most loved fake bake products, including Fake Bake Flawless which is currently on offer. This is our most user friendly, streak free tan for anyone who feels they might like a little feel-good pamper. To see the products please click HERE.
Thank you and look after yourselves

Covid -19 Update 13 May 2020
Following the announcement we can now confirm we will not be re-opening before 4th July and this date is currently conditional to the previous steps. While we are so grateful for the love and support, we are pleased with the decision that our industry is not returning just yet because we know in our heart of hearts it is not safe to do so and safety remains a priority for us. All appointments before 4th July have been removed from the diary but we know exactly who was booked and where, so we can contact you all when we have a date closer to the time to offer a rebook. You are welcome to contact us at any stage with your questions and we will answer them as best we can. The staff are furloughed so please bear with us during this time as response may be a little slower. Take care.
Covid-19 Update 21 March 2020
As of Saturday 21st March we are closed due to Covid-19. We are checking emails regularly, so if you have a query please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note the main phone line is not currently monitored regularly, so please call or text 07407438784 for any urgent enquiries. Stay well, stay home, stay safe
14th March 2020 Covid-19 Statement
Our policy has always been and always will be that our therapists clean their hands thoroughly before and after every treatment and we have always had high hygiene standards due to the nature of our work.
We want to reassure our clients that additional cleaning and hygiene procedures have been set in place in between clients, on top of our already strict protocols. As always, all towels from the bed are laundered after every client and surfaces are sanitised regularly.
Whilst we understand clients concerns regarding COVID-19, please rest assured that we are taking every step to protect ourselves and clients.
We ask all visitors to please wash their hands on arrival to the salon. If you are feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms of the virus, we respectfully ask that you reschedule your appointment and do not come into the salon until a later date.
Thank you for reading and for your continued support in helping Just Pampered provide the safest environment for our staff and customers.
